The Redwood Memorial Grove provides a place of tranquility and natural beauty for those in our church community who wish to have their ashes interred there.

The Memorial Grove is available to church members and their families, and, in special circumstances, to others at the sole discretion of a pastor and Session. If you would like to make an advance request yourself, please fill out this request and click submit. Thank you!

Because we want to protect the redwoods and keep the Grove in its natural state, we ask that your family agree to the following conditions: 

1. Valley Presbyterian does not permit any man-made markers in the Grove. 

2. You may choose a small engraved memorial plate inscribed with your name and dates for placement on the exterior wall of the sanctuary for an additional fee. 

3. Only small biodegradable containers for the ashes (made of cloth, cardboard or wood) will be accepted. The church provides a linen bag at no charge. We also ask families to request that the mortuary not use embalming fluid. 

4. At the time of internment, the family or its representative will be asked to make a memorial donation. Curently, the suggested gift is $350.
