Join your fellow VPC nature lovers for a 4-mile hike at Huddart Park, one of the most beautiful and accessible parks in the Bay Area. This moderate hike includes some elevation on well-maintained trails and should take about 2 hours. You’re welcome to continue hiking on your own if you’d like.

Older children who can hike 4 miles without assistance are welcome. No strollers please as the trails may not accommodate them.

Wear comfortable hiking or walking shoes with good tread, dress in layers as mornings can be cool, and wear long sleeves and pants to protect from ticks (which are common due to the deer population).

We’ll meet at Woodside Elementary School (3195 Woodside Road) at 8:00 AM to carpool to Huddart Park (1100 Kings Mountain Road). Parking is $6 per vehicle. Please let us know if you plan to drive separately.

The hike will begin around 8:30 AM from the main entrance near the Bay Tree Trailhead.

No pets or smoking are allowed. Bring water and a snack or lunch if you’d like to picnic afterward. Most of the hike is shaded, but sunscreen is recommended if you plan to stay and enjoy the meadows.
